Thing is, while it wasn't knee-slapping funny, it was one of those jokes that a room full of comedians would have said amongst themselves - not one many would have tried to make on stage unless it is one of your very blue comedy folk who are known for and made a career saying that kind of shit (like the recently departed Bob Saget). Meltzer is none of those.

And we get the implications about lining up genocide, the unfortunately named PPV match, and the nation of Saudi Arabia, but unless Doug Stanhope was making that comparison in a dive bar show in Nova Scotia, nobody was going to come out of saying that unscathed. Especially not when just uttered publicly on Twitter. Intentionally.
