I’m not trying to insult modern wrestling audiences, but…

Roman Reigns is part of the family. People have been speculating about The Rock coming back at Survivor Series for the longest time. The reason it can’t happen is because The Rock hurting himself during a wrestling match is going to delay filming and cost production companies millions upon millions of dollars. I don’t know how else to explain it to people. But there are still people who are CONVINCED this whole Roman story is supposed to lead to a match with Rock down the line.

It doesn’t surprise me fans in the crowd were going for it. Nor does it surprise me that TPWW was going for it. I don’t know what you want from this company when it comes to highlighting The Rock and special events and simultaneously promoting Roman Reigns in the best light possible. Not highlighting Rock is insane. Backing away from this Roman story is insane.

People just want to bash this company. And I get that — I was there for many years (and called out for it because I didn’t get it and just wanted to ruin people’s fun apparently…my, how things change). But saying “Hey, did you know The Rock debuted with us 25 years ago, here’s a match in his honor, here are some clips” is promising people a return. It’s not like Roman Reigns called out any member of his family to dare step out of line at Survivor Series and they went out of their way to downplay Rock’s history there to imply it would be him, did they?

This is just like people finding whatever reason they can to shit over WWE for signing talent, for firing talent, for wanting to increase their profit margin as a publicly traded business. There are legitimate things to pick apart, but The Rock not being there when they never said he would be is just being silly and destructive because you want to be.

Did WWE actually imply that The Rock was going to be at Survivor Series? Especially considering they are “not subtle?”
