Does anyone else remember this/did this?

Before the internet, listed in the newspaper there was a free hotline you could call and then enter a 5 digit code to hear news/rumors about about a different subject. I used to call every Tuesday to hear wrestling rumors/scoops. I remember the guy had a deep voice but I can't remember his name.
