I'm loving it so far. Haven't had any issues with respawning enemies. I don't even know what people are talking about unless they are confusing it for when enemies call for backup and they start swarming in by the truck/helicopter load from every direction.
Don't mind the levelling system still being there either. Kinda reminds me of Just Cause, and that's fine. Allows you to out level some of the earlier areas but keeps the harder places more in line with your progress so there is always somewhere challenging to go and the game doesn't get too easy.
Have heard some complaints that the game is too easy and I can only assume that's coming from people staying in the low level areas because as soon as you go out of the comfort zone you will get easily massacred, especially when multiple choppers enter the fray.
I also kinda like the whole rock/paper/scissors weapon dynamic of needing different ammo types and what not for different enemies. It makes sense and is an appropriate progression of shooter mechanics. An enemy with armor still feels like a bullet sponge if you try to hit him with standard rounds, but switch to armor piercing and he goes down much quicker. Sure you may have to switch off your favorite weapon but so what, there are plenty of choices and it's not hard to find another similar one and just equip it with a different ammo type.
The base building mechanic is a bit annoying imo though. You can only build 2 of the 6 additional facilities at each of the 3 subbases. Seems dumb and annoying and makes you travel between them unnecessarily. Wish I could just build all 6 at the main base....which you can't upgrade at all.
The sidekick/Amigo system feels like a step back though. You can only have 1 summoned at a time instead of multiple to call on and there are way fewer of them. Way less variety and usefulness. I'm still very early on and I'm pretty sure that I already have the best one and don't see myself switching any time soon.
All in all I like it and it feels fresh compared to the games since 4 at least. It feels nothing like FC4 and FC5. There are some minor similarities to New Dawn in the weapon upgrades and levelling. Feels much more like a well refined Just Cause.
