Same for something that gets dismissed as being truthful suddenly becomes the truth if it fits into whatever narrative someone has about it. Doesn't matter if nothing about the actual matter or issue changed. Ratings talk being the biggest example of it around here.

I’m sure his “ratings talk” there is the Meltzer, grab some numbers from Showbuzz charts (super academic source there), put emphasis on the area you want to make one company look better than the other, spin that into a story to sell newsletters. He believes what he is sold.
