I don't see Smeat going around saying "THIS IS 100% VERIFIABLE FACT!!! FUCKING FIGHT ME!". In fact, he's made MANY "correction" posts when information becomes available that may invalidate something he posted earlier.

Rather, he reports the news which he finds and posts it. If it doesn't fit your narrative or whatever, you take issue with HIM and not the actual source of the news. As much as smeetzsheetz.com should be an awesome website, it isn't his.

It would be like getting pissed off at the news anchor for reading whats on the teleprompter, or watching a news channel you dislike just so you can scream at it. Go for the source if you actually give a damn like you say. THEY are the ones throwing out "misinformation".
No, no, no, it’s not. You’re being reasonable, but you’re missing what actually happens. If Smeat just posted the sheets, that would be more like what you’re saying at the end about attacking the reporter.

This little spat came up because he responded to a hypothetical I posted saying “that would be dumb because of all this historical evidence.” I responded to that and he started listing a bunch of things that didn’t happen. That literally happened. The WWE didn’t buy CMLL and dissolve it into Mexico. They didn’t buy NOAH or STARDOM and do the same thing in Japan. He takes this shit at face value. That’s my issue.

Reporting on hearsay is fine. Sometimes you have to do it. That’s why I initially defended Smeat when other people got up him for posting shit. But he goes that extra step into inserting himself citing it with a “Well, actually.” That’s why I tell him off. Because he’s reporting a bunch of hearsay that is designed to get clicks, sell newsletters and push a narrative. If you think about the stories, some of them anyway, for more than one minute, you realize how they cannot be true. How could Vince McMahon initially taken control of NXT? He’s a busy man. He’d be busy on Wednesdays. Just think about it. That’s all I ask. And don’t act like you’re in possession of some holy relic because you can regurgitate it. His entire arguments, when he sees something he doesn’t like, are based around newsletter info. He doesn’t add a single thought of his own, or respond to them. An essay by Smeat would be source, source, source, source with no critical thinking. And they wouldn’t be good sources either. But he still acts smart because of them. Anyone can post someone else’s thoughts.

In this thread, he backed up someone calling the things he posted “facts.” His borrowed opinion is “fact.” I can see through the news reports that, you know, predicted the end of the world that didn’t come? Those ones. I don’t like “facts.”

And if you attack the sources, he’ll defend them too. Post the bullshit, but when someone posts “Hey, you know that’s not true right?” don’t call them an asshole and whatever. And Smeat does, he’s not above it. His news sharing gives him a sense of authority and he doesn’t like that being challenged. See what happens when you question whether or not Meltzer still has any good WWE sources. Defends the shit out of him. When was the last story Meltzer broke? Edge to the WWE? He got that from AEW because Edge had signed a deal with WWE and The Bucks or someone told Dave they couldn’t talk to him anymore. Can’t think of one more recent than that.
