Apparently AEW tested out the idea of doing intermissions for their shows at their non-televised house show event last week.
Tony Khan stated that if the idea gets enough support from fans, he'd considering doing it for AEW PPVs.

When discussing the success of the house show, he brought up the idea of doing an intermission and how it worked at The House Always Wins as it allowed fans to take a break. The intermission took place after Cody Rhodes' street fight with Aaron Solow and the event returned with Max Caster cutting a rap promo on Orange Cassidy to set up a six-man tag bout.
Khan went on to say that he believes an intermission could work at pay-per-view events, saying, "We have great [video packages] and we could do that. Also, a [countdown] clock. If you watch the Road To or the countdown, you might've seen them, but that's even better. They are part of the pay-per-view, putting some [video packages] up. I think it's a good idea. If [Busted Open hosts Tommy Dreamer and Dave LaGreca] like it, that makes me feel a little better. Maybe it's a good idea. If the fans like it, then maybe it's a good idea."
In over the top fashion, I mentioned this being a not-so-great idea as AEW pay-per-views are already four hours long and don't begin until 8 p.m. ET on a Sunday. Another user agreed.
