Apparently WCW once had plans for Chris Jericho to join the nWo but he rejected the idea due to not wanting to get lost in the shuffle due to the group having way too many members at the time.

Jericho was asked is The Inner Circle the first stable that he’s ever led. Jericho answered the question and then shared that he was asked to join the n.W.o. during his time in WCW but rejected that offer because he knew the group was packed numbers-wise and didn’t want to get lost in the shuffle.
