Outside of a few weeks since the Wednesday Night War stared, NXT pretty much has been carried heavily by WWE's older tv audience which completely goes against Triple H's claims about the brand and the idea of NXT helping build WWE's future audience.

Even NXT's turn around in fortunes in terms of competitiveness was more due to WWE having to give it main show and roster exposure and not because of the brand's own doing. Also the idea of DVR hurting AEW way more in terms of younger viewers based on Meltzer's and others data.

NXT probably will top AEW again once the Rumble nears because of the rumors of their involvement with the event but that would just prove once again that NXT needs WWE's main shows for major ratings boosts and interest.
