I remember a few years ago in an interview he was asked about wrestling in jeans and a tank top and he'd defended the choice saying, "hey, this is what you'd wear in a bar fight, you wouldn't show up in just your boots and underwear"
I got what he was saying but it sounded funny coming from him seeing as he wore trunks throughout his indy and FCW career, and that was when he was really scrawny looking. Wasn't sure if the street clothes look was actually a Vince mandate and he was being a company guy by defending it.
Now he's out of WWE and right back to proper gear. But I can't blame him for wanting to show off the work he put in.
