I think the suggestion that people think they are right because they are offended is a non-sequitur. People are often offended when you ignore evidence and the like. It's a dismissal of someone because they don't like something along with not agreeing with it. That's too easy.

Your defense of people claiming to be offended to win an argument is noted, however.
