Not really since he had a legal reason to go to the embassy in Turkey and the Saudis just used his previous marriage as the bait for their trap.

Since he was married in Saudi Arabia but got divorced due to being in exile, he didn't have the legal paperwork needed to officially annul it and legally marry someone else in Turkey. Since the Saudis knew everything about his predicament and exactly when he would be at the embassy, it made it easier for them to plan the trap and send the hit squad.
