3 is a combination of two titles. 6 was a completely different title that existed at the same time as the other WWE title. Just because WWE decided to add a spot in the lineage where there were two champions at the same time, they were still two different titles being held by different people. And 7 is, again, a combination of two different titles that hadn't been unified before.
All 8 of those are distinctly different titles that were born out of distinctly different circumstances regardless of the lineage WWE chooses to use. It's a mess. Especially for such a short period of time. I can see it over the span of 100 years as companies are coming and going and merging titles becomes a necessity. This is all WWE just being fickle and not knowing what to do though. lol

IMO, it is the biggest clusterfuck creatively, in terms of why would you want to be (or root for or against) a wrestler if there's no clear definition of who the best in the world/company is and so there's no ultimate goal for the wrestler's career. I know, kayfabe is dead, blah, blah, blah. If you don't treat it somewhat consistently seriously though (and this is just one of the (many) ways WWE has simply shit on their own product), then what's at stake and the outcome has no importance. As a result, there's no reason for me to actually or even want to tune in to watch.
