Or they could just be a heel comedy duo. I feel both guys would be really good at that, especially Mikey. Maybe after The Miz dumps them, they can go around trying to align themselves with other guys, with Hugh Morris humorous results.

Why not have it where Shane & Bryan don't want to sign them but Kenny & Mikey want to stay around, so they hatch a plan to align themselves with someone else so they have a reason to stick around SmackDown, so they try their best to find someone to align with but nobody wants them.

During this hunt to find someone, they have their fair share of matches which they achieve by various methods, such as agreeing with a tag team to take their place in a match that involves facing someone like Kane, Ambrose or American Alpha, as the tag team don't want to face them, so Kenny & Mikey agree to take their place as a way to try to impress Shane & Bryan into signing them, but they're never impressed, mostly because Kenny & Mikey cheat most of the time or lose.

That's just one somewhat in-depth idea straight off the top of my head.
