I feel like there are very few super trustworthy closers. I think Roberto Osuna is a great pitcher and a wonderful closer, but he's not beyond blowing saves in big situations.... it's simply the nature of the position. Even Duane Ward in the best season of his career and as the Jay's primary closer after Tom Henke left, blew 6 saves and his era was only 2.13. He gave up about a million runs against Chicago White Sox in the last game of the ALCS in 1993 but was able to get them out before they could tie it.
All you can ask from your closer is that he goes out there and competes and can recover from those tough blown saves. If only everyone could be Rivera, Hoffman or in the case of this year, Zach Britton. Even look at Craig Kimbrall though, he's nowhere near as reliable as he used to be, but still I wouldn't want anyone else closing a game for me.
