Not saying most fans aren't on the internet, but have you see the numbers TNA draw?

Lots of fans are interested in the here and now of WWE, but I think it is fair to say, and obvious to look at numbers, that the vast majority don't watch wrestling outside WWE.

Sure, some are probably looking at a few older matches out of interest, but I would still maintain that the vast majority know 90% of AJ Styles from how he has been presented in the WWE.

Even if they did look at matches from the past, it would have little to no effect on how they perceive him in WWE.
