The WWE's segment on SportsCenter on ESPN has apparently been doing very well so far. Well enough that a few people have been speculating that ESPN might one day be interested in having a stake in some original content from the WWE. Would ESPN be a good place to air NXT? It's the less silly WWE brand, more focused on the athletic properties of its talent, with more emphasis placed on winning, losing and championships.

If ESPN is willing to pay the rights fee, NXT could open itself up to a wider audience, the guys and gals down there could be paid better, and the rush to move onto RAW and SmackDown might dissipate. You'd obviously still leave the Takeover shows on the WWE Network, and use the ESPN platform to advertise them. Eventually Breaking Ground could follow suit (provided that it builds momentum and continues to deliver as a show).
