trying to transfer my old PS3 data which i put onto a USB external hard drive onto a new PS3

old model was "CECHE01" - the original 60gb "phat" one backwards compatible with ps1/ps2

the new one is "CECH-2001A" i think - 120gb "slim"

plugged in my hard drive and it recognizes it, but then says there is no game data on it... can't find any music/pictures data also even though that stuff is on there too

is there any way to get it back or did i just spend a lot of time and money for years trying to specifically avoid this situation for nothing
