Question: Should they be trying to get NXT on network television? I've been thinking about this recently, and the one thing I keep coming back to is "No, it's a hook for the Network." But the more I think about it, the more positives I can see coming out of it.
Advertising dollars means that the guys can be paid more and the product can continue to expand, travel, get hot, etc. It might hook new fans to the NXT experience, which can, in turn, generate more Network subscribers and get people interested in wrestling in general. Right now, everyone in the States has to watch NXT on the Network, yes? That means that the product is only going to have around 1 million viewers a week, tops, right? That's roughly half of what the WWE pulls for SmackDown on average, yeah?
Even if they did just a few months on USA or something, just to see what they can pull in -- if it increases fans for NXT, then it might be worth it. You can still keep the Takeover specials on the Network, so you can essentially use them as PPV.
The other option is that you could put the Takeover shows on television, or even trial them on PPV -- making them available on the Network later.
