All evidence pointed to the trade being 100% agreed upon from a player standpoint. Only holdup was Wheeler's medicals. He just had TJS in March so I presumed the Brewers wanted to see how he was doing in his recovery.

So yeah. Now we know Wheeler is basically untradeable because he clearly isn't far along in recovery yet. Flores' confidence is probably shot beyond repair. And teams now have an idea of what it will take to land Gomez. The Mets should have the talent to get something done...but it won't be someone as good as Gomez.

I don't even think I care anymore. What an absolute gut punch.
