WWE officials were hoping to get Daniel Bryan back in the ring this month and have him defend the Intercontinental Title against King Barrett this Sunday at the Payback pay-per-view but as noted, they got MRI results back on May 8th and it was determined that Bryan would not be able to return any time soon, if ever again.
The situation has brought a lot of frustration within WWE. WWE officials want what's best for Bryan but they obviously want him working for the company and want him on TV as they have a DVD and other products coming out that need to be promoted. There has been some talk that Bryan is now so injury-prone that maybe they could best use him in a non-wrestling position.
Since Monday's RAW where he dropped the Intercontinental Title, the talk has been that Bryan is trying to figure out a way to get cleared. There's been no word yet if Bryan will be getting the surgery that he was so reluctant to get before but people are wondering if that's an option. Needless to say, a lot of people in the company really feel bad for Bryan right now.

We heard some rumors last week but The Wrestling Observer confirms that NXT has dropped the Shoot Nation Stable. However, they will be keeping Sawyer Fulton and Angelo Dawkins together as a tag team without the Shoot Nation label. No word yet on what they will do with stable head Chad Gable.

TNA President Dixie Carter held a meeting at this past weekend's Impact Wrestling tapings and basically told the talents not to believe what they read on wrestling websites about the ratings and viewership being down. Dixie claimed that there is ratings information that websites aren't aware of that she and TNA are privy to. She claimed that when websites publish TNA ratings data, we're not publishing them with the West Coast numbers included but we post the data that comes from Nielsen and we do include the overall viewership with numbers for the replay. Dixie also pointed out that websites don't report on the +.3 or +.7 DVR numbers as some fans watch throughout the week. Dixie instructed the roster to pay no mind to ratings reports because the numbers are better than what's actually being released.

For what it's worth, newly released advertising for several upcoming WWE live events is listing ********* as the WWE Intercontinental Champion.
As noted, WWE announced this week that the vacant Intercontinental title will be decided at the Elimination Chamber WWE Network special on Sunday, May 31st.

Some other sheet news includes: - WWE announced Finn Balor vs Chris Jericho match will be taking place during the upcoming tour of Japan.
- Seiya Sanada revealed he regretted his time in TNA and won't be renewing his expiring WRESTLE-1 contract. Will be a freelance wrestler for GFW and considering the possibility of trying to get a deal done with the WWE in the near future.
