Impact Main Event thoughts:
Of course a TNA Championship match would feature the following things:
1) One of the competitors hitting a low blow on the guest referee from behind to let people interfere... despite the fact that he was clearly the only one in the ring. This did not result in a DQ.
2) A one legged guy coming to the defense of the world champion, an olympic gold medalist.
3) Two semi-unrelated factions interfering and brawling out of the match. If you're keeping track, this means no less than 7 people interfered in the match to some extent.
Surprisingly, a clean finish despite all the clusterfuckery, so at least there's that.
Not a terrible show. Better than most of what I'd seen since the move to Destination America, but it definitely has more than a little bit of the issues that have pretty much plagued TNA for a decade now.
I'm not going to go out of my way to watch it, but I'll probably check it out again if I happen to be home and not watching anything else.
And now it's being followed by a show with a bunch of thick-accented ghost hunters from Tennessee. And they've been avertising "ALL NEW HILLBILLY BLOOD TOMORROW 9/8c" above their logo all night. Strong company TNA's keeping.
