So, I just finished reading "Doomed," the big Superman event for this year. This was a pretty fun one, not perfect by any stretch, but it's the first time in a long while that a Superman story has felt appropriately big and crazy and ridiculous.

The ending, though, might end up being a big fucking deal.

Spoilers ahead, obviously.

SPOILER: show

Okay, so Superman's been doing this whole Jekyll-and-Hyde thing where he's been infected with spores that are turning him into another Doomsday. But it turns out that Doomsday and the new 'SuperDoom' (yes, that's what they call him) are just a distraction, and the real threat is Brainiac, who's trying to absorb the minds of everyone on Earth so he can become powerful enough to remake the universe.

There's a lot of crazy shit, including Wonder Woman diving into the Phantom Zone to beat up Mongul and take over the Warworld to shoot at Brainiac's mother-ship, and Lois Lane temporarily becoming an avatar for Brainiac only to then use his godlike psychic powers against him, and all sorts of fun stuff like that.

The part that really matters, though, is the end. The good guys have smashed Brainiac's ship, thwarted his plan, and all that's left is to deal with Brainy himself. Superman flies himself and Brainiac into a black hole, where they end up outside of the Universe.....

SPOILER: show

....and into the old DC Universe. Holy shit yes.
