First time Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler did commentary together

-From November 1983: Lanny Poffo/Iceman King Parsons vs Butch Reed/Jim Neidhart in Mid South Wrestling

-This was at a time that Lawler and Jerry Jarrett were asked by Watts to look at his promotion and help him out as business had dropped quite a bit

Jarrett/Lawler told Watts he didn't have anyone that would appeal to the female fans

Mid South soon thereafter got The Midnight Express, The Rock and Roll Express, Terry Taylor and Bill Dundee as booker

and of course the feud with the Midnight's and Rock and Roll's ignited the territory once again with some really great tag matches
