According to several outlets, Sega has won the bidding war for Atlus going as far as also purchasing all of Index Corporation in a deal expected to become official in November. Based on current rates, Sega spent around $142 million for this deal.

According to Nintendo Everything, Sega Sammy is in fact buying out Index Holdings entirely, which would simultaneously put the Persona developer in its stable. The 14 billion yen transaction is expected to be finalized in November.

There is a downside though since Index Corporation will be required to undergo a big restructuring which could also affect Atlus as part of the terms in the new deal.
