It depends if developers want to go through the hassle of doing lower-spec versions, especially once next-gen sales start to really thrive.

The Playstation 2 saw a lot of love for quite some time after it was considered obsolete. Hell, it was only a couple of years back that they stopped making WWE games for it.

Next-gen thriving isn't a given. While I'm betting it will happen eventually, there's a lot to contend with. This goes doubly if we see the kind of shit MS has pulled on a wider scale.
