Examples:
* The Miz will likely beat Cody Rhodes with the Figure Four since he's a returning babyface and Cody Rhodes doesn't have much going on. But what I would have happen is Damien Sandow help Cody Rhodes win, forcing The Miz to find some back-up for a tag team feud against Rhodes Scholars. That would strengthen the tag division a bit, and it'd give us another face team with enough credibility to take on The Shield when they win the Tag Titles. In a perfect world, it'd be a returning John Morrison, but there's also R-Truth with nothing going on. An Awesome Truth reunion might actually be a breath of fresh air for both men. R-Truth's persona clashing with Damien Sandow's would make for some interesting television.
* Randy Orton will probably beat Big Show in a meaningless match in his hometown, which will pop the crowd like crazy but ultimately mean nothing. I think this is a pretty good time to set up a new storyline for Orton. Recently Orton has had some battles with Antonio Cesaro. Why would Cesaro just let that rivalry die if he still feels he has something left to prove? Cesaro attacking Orton mid-match and putting him through a table or something could be development that could allow Cesaro to stand out as something more than just a foreign heel. A returning Christian attacking Orton could lead to some intrigue there, and heel Christian carries more credibility than a babyface Christian. Bray Wyatt could debut by destroying Orton in his hometown.
* The Shield are probably going to be WWE Tag Team Champions, but I wouldn't pull the trigger just yet. Once they win the titles, they've really only got Team Hell No to battle with. Dean Ambrose winning the US Title is the right way to go, but if The Shield all win titles at the same time it might be "overload" so to speak for casual fans. Work up to The Shield holding all the pieces. Reigns goes to Spear Daniel Bryan but Kane throws Rollins into the Spear. Kane then big boots Reigns into The No! Lock and Reigns has to submit to Bryan as Kane Chokeslams Rollins. The Shield regroup and then take the titles in a traditional tag team match at Payback and then move on to face The Miz & John Morrison or The Awesome Truth after they are finally done with Team Hell No.
* Alberto Del Rio will likely win the I Quit Match, since babyface wrestlers usually do and that would set up for Ziggler vs. Del Rio nicely. But maybe Del Rio will get more emotional investment as a face character if he is the one who loses at Extreme Rules? Let's say that Swagger manages to handcuff Del Rio to the ring ropes and beats him with a kendo stick. Zeb Colter gets on the mic and says "Beat him like a pinata, Jack!" Ricardo Rodriguez then enters the ring and pulls the kendo stick from Swagger's arms. Zeb Colter gets an evil smirk on his face and tells Swagger to get Ricardo. Swagger puts the Patriot Lock on Ricardo and seeing his best friend in pain is the only thing that can make Del Rio decide to throw the match. Swagger moves on to Ziggler, who plays the face temporarily for their rivalry, and Del Rio does something to move back into the title picture. Maybe he even moves away entirely and starts a feud with someone who makes fun of his "weakness" at Extreme Rules. Wade Barrett doesn't have anyone to feud with. Maybe Barrett vs. Del Rio for the IC Title would be a nice change for both men?
Eh.
