And that's it right there; companies do shady things, but people buy them anyway. If your biggest complainers are a small cabal of players while the rest are fine and dandy spending money on you, what would YOU honestly do? So it's not some 'companies exist to make money' for me, it's how gamers forgot about how much power they have. We killed Turok. We killed Siphon Filter. We killed the new Medal of Honor. We didn't like them so we killed them with our wallets.
Nobody sees it that way, though.

Damn shame about the franchises you named, all were great IMO. Too many people stuck on the "annual blockbusters" now, like CoD, and what will be Battlefield and apparently Assassins Creed too.
Sad that Medal of Honor was killed, that was the first WW II shooter I had ever played.
