I started both of those in 2012 though. New Super Mario Bros was fun except for the fact that we kept getting in each other's way, so, annoying. Also a little lenient with retries and stuff. Castlevania was ridiculous. I was flipping out at the last boss and had to try on three separate days to beat it and kept dying but then today I started from there and beat it on the first try and it was kind of anti-climactic.
I dunno part of the fun of nsmbw was the hilarity that ensued from getting in each others way. Especially when we started to purposely fuck each other over.
