During the XBLA New Years countdown, amongst all the other things I downloaded, I finally picked up "Dust: An Elysian Tale", or as I see it: "Castlevania: Sym-Furrie of the Night". Obviously MetroidVania. Not as expansive as something like Shadow Complex, but still a damn good game from top to bottom. Fairly simple to 100% achievements without some dumb-ass ones relying on luck or multiplayer functions to get. Lots of self-aware humor and cameos. I even liked the "love letter" to Simon's Quest thrown in.

Story was kinda cliche, but that's okay. Everything doesn't have to have a friggin Shyamalanian twist ending or a branching path of what is ultimately a black and white path of morality. It starts, it's fun, it ends.

Guess I'd better actually put time into Hitman: Absolution now.
