Chris Benoit has resurfaced in WWE history by receiving an entry in the WWE Encyclopedia. The entry, which is more than half a page in the second edition of the book has many within WWE "baffled."

The biography entry makes reference to Benoit emulating the Dynamite Kid after he saw Dynamite compete as a kid, as well as training in Stu Harts' Dungeon, his international wrestling appearances, his rise in WCW, his World Heavyweight Title win and more. While he is referred to in the past tense, there is no mention of his death or the deaths of Nancy and Daniel Benoit.
