Dickey's had three good years in a row, too. Well, two good years followed by one fabulous year. Been money since he came to the Mets. His 2011 season is often overlooked because of the 8-13 record, proof that wins and losses just aren't good metrics to use. Might be the best signing Omar Minaya made during his entire tenure.
One rumor floating around was Dickey for Arencibia and Gose. That would be an awful trade for the Mets. They have about 5 million lefty-hitting outfielders already. And Arencibia has some nice pop but can't be counted on to hit for a decent average or reach base consistently. Basically he'd be a righty Luca Duda.
Sounds like Greinke and Sanchez have to sign before teams might panic and offer more for Dickey than they already have. So it's unlikely to happen before the Winter Meetings are done.
