While Sony is currently involved in a lawsuit as a plaintiff in regards to the Kevin Butler situation, they might become a defendant in another as their recently bought Gaikai company has been hit with a patent infringement lawsuit.

According to a lawsuit brought to the courts in Delaware, T5 Labs is suing Gaikai over claims the company has “committed and continues to commit acts of infringement" involving a patent owned by T5 Labs. The patent in question deals with cloud services which T5 Labs says they own and Gaikai used without permission.

As part of their claims, T5 Labs is requesting monetary compensation to cover all past damages and future activity from Gaikai and to a smaller degree from Sony themselves.

The same company previously sued OnLive over a similar patent in 2011 but did not reach the courts due to OnLive's recent financial problems.
