The fan-made Black Mesa mod which is a remake of Half Life 1 using the Source engine was officially released today on the developers website although an official Steam version won't be released until after Valve released the first batch of games from the Greenlight program.

Both the current mod and the upcoming Steam version are free to play although as of now the game isn't completely finished with roughly just the Xen portion of the game missing. The developers state that will be included at a later date once it has been finished and tested.
