Thinking they might put in Waluigi to partner with Wario in SSB.

I read somewhere today that Sakurai said this Smash Bros would go in a different direction or something. People are wondering what that might mean.
3D fighting area? Focus on tag matches?

It'll never happen but how cool would it be if they had Smash Bros be a launch title and, through out the life span of the Wii U, new characters would be added by you purchasing and meeting certain requirements in a game?
You buy The next Zelda game for Wii U, 2 years after Smash Bros has launched. You defeat the new arch enemy and get a message after the credits "Congratulations! *arch enemy name* has been added to Smash Bros!"

It's doable. Just have compatible games house the character data on the disc and, when the requirements are met, the game scans for a Smash save and unlocks the character by downloading it to the Wii U, like 360 games do with avatar awards.
It would keep the game fresh. Plus I'm sure a few people may be persuaded to pick up a new game if they knew it would unlock a character and/or stage for Smash Bros.
