Speaking of EA, a bid was made by a Japanese company to start a takeover of the company although in terms of value and reserves it won't be enough for a complete takeover.

A South Korean company called Nexon officially placed a bid to purchase EA today with the reaction from the stock market being positive about the news. EA's stock value rose by 8% once the news was made public today.

Nexon primarily makes free-to-play MMO games like Maple Story and Dragon Quest with its main revenue base located in Korea. While it was founded as a company in South Korea, their headquarters and business decisions are located in Japan.

The biggest issue is according to market value, Nexon doesn't have enough to completely buy out EA since they are only worth about $1.5 billion while EA is worth $5 billion. They can still make a bid to become a minority owner of EA though if the company approves of the deal.

The biggest benefit for EA would be having a huge presence in the free-to-play market and a huge foothold in Korea due to Nexon if they were to accept the offer.
