Remedy could be considering bring over the rest of the Alan Wake series a lot quicker than Microsoft normally allows for first party game ports after the first Alan Wake game quickly became a #1 seller on Steam.

The PC game managed to recoup all of its development costs within 48 hours of going on sale and shows the series itself has as strong of a PC user base as on the Xbox 360.

Quote:
“We are very happy with the sales and hitting #1 on Steam at launch was nothing short of amazing. We recouped our development and marketing expenses during the first 48 hours. And yes, we’re certainly very excited about PC.”
While its unlikely Microsoft will suddenly change their release policy which favors the Xbox 360 to ensure maximum console sales, they could eventually consider reducing the long waiting period to allow first party PC games to arrive a lot quicker than normal. Microsoft usually holds off on allowing a PC port to be made until around 2 years after the console version was released.
