Early sales numbers came in and Modern Warfare 3 almost tripled the Day 1 sales of Battlefield 3 (about 3.5 million) and almost doubled BF 3 week one sales (5 million) with 9.3 million copies sold on Day 1.

It ended up becoming the new Day 1 record and also held the record for pre-orders at 6.5 million.

Activision also promised about twenty DLC packs will be made for MW 3 with about 1-2 packs per month and the majority revolving around Spec-Ops and multiplayer maps.
