EA reveals their new EA Sports Season Ticket subscription plan officially starts today and Madden 12 will be the first game to use the service.

At the cost of $25, EA is allowing members early access to DLC at a 20% discount along with free access to all web content for their sports games. Gamestop was confirmed as the exclusive retailer to sell the Season Ticket pass in stores.

Madden 12 was revealed to allow members to download and play the game early on August 27 while non-members have to wait until the official release date of August 30 for the game.

As of now the plan will only be available on PSN and XBLA (2,000 MS Points).

Quote:
The pass covers Madden NFL 12, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12, NCAA Football 12, FIFA 12, and NHL 12, providing players with early download access to the titles ahead of retail stores (you'll still have to make a trip out to the store on launch day, if you don't want a solely digital copy), a 20% discount on all downloadable content, and special free "web perks," which are as yet unspecified, save for FIFA, which will be getting Creation Center packs, with additional assets to build custom teams and tournaments.
The plan does not give a discount for the EA Online Pass nor a discount for sports games DLC released earlier in the year but under the '12 series (ex. NCAA 12). The accounts are also non-transferable unlike EA Accounts and the discounts only apply to the console the Season Ticket pass was purchased on.

The plan does not include the rumored persistent career-mode EA was rumored to be working on earlier. That plan is expected to be a separate subscription plan and won't arrive until 2012 at the earliest.
