Notes:
- Tekken characters will play very similarly to their canon versions. Right down to their core moves/combos operating with lp/mp/lk/mk (four face buttons on pad). Some commands are exactly the same!
- Tag system is based on Tekken Tag style, rather than Capcom's own Vs series. You can tag anytime and even cancel moves into tags (during juggles). You can tag while laying on the ground as well. Tags are mp+mk. Tag Cancels and Ground Recovery Tags cost a meter.
- Juggle system is very Tekken style, anytime after a hit that leaves opponents in the air is your time to beat their ass. Imagine certain 'floaty' moves from SSF4 (Chun's air-HP, Ryu's lp Shoryu on counter hit), but all the time. Tekken's Bound mechanics are here, as well as SF's wall bounce. Along with tag combos, this game will be combo happy.
- Certain moves can be charged, like Ryu's fireball. It seems to have two levels of charge with different effects: Level 1 charge turns the fireball into an EX version (for free!), Level 2 charge turns it into a supermove (also for free!). If other characters operate the same, that's pretty crazy.
- It seems each of the Tekken characters have a move that dodges projectiles. Tekken characters do not give a fuck.
- The super meter has three cells. Each cell grants an EX attack. Supermoves cost merely 2 cells, interestingly enough. I assume the whole meter goes toward those tag team ultras we seen long ago.
- Link combos from SSF4 seem to have been downscaled or outright eliminated. Chain combo style from Tekken flourishes.
- There's a universal launch move; hp+hk, for everyone to start a combo. Although there's no aerial raves like the Vs series, there's still a lot you can do with it. It's actually kinda slow and leaves you open for now.
- lp+lk is still throws.
- Many command throws will catch you in the air, so jumping back from grapplers will not work all the time. This could be another buff for Tekken players in a 2D dimension. Abel just came.
- Ryu's EX Shoryu is his Shin-Shoryu!
- Chun's Lightning Legs is now qcf+k. No mashes.
