He's not fired but at the same time the NFL hasn't stepped in for any future punishments. No players involved in the incident are expected to be punished either.

Big rumor right now is Alosi is taking the fall for the instructions since someone else or a few people who are of higher value to the team actually gave the instructions before the game. A few teams and management people have complained about the Jets using this type of tactic for a while this season.
And apparently the Patriots have been using this tactic for years. The wall, that is.
