Update for the week of June 6 to June 13.
SmackDown!:
AJ Styles wins the World Heavyweight Title from Jason Collins in an impromptu challenge in the main event of SmackDown! June 6th. Styles slams Collins' head into the title belt resting on the turnbuckle after avoiding Collins' corner forearm. Styles hits the Spiral Tap for the win. The celebration is short-lived as Kane comes out and stares down Styles. Styles realizes that Kane wants to cash in Money in the Bank and pleads with Kane not to do it. He's on his knees and practically in tears begging to be given a break. Kane then turns his attention to the fallen Collins and allows Styles to celebrate some more. Kane rolls Collins out of the ring and gives him a menacing look. Suddenly he boots Styles in the face and then hands the briefcase over to the referee. It's on!!! The bell rings! CHOKESLAM! 1....2...3! Kane walks out the new World Heavyweight Champion! The following week, Styles is denied a rematch from Kane since there is no rematch clause in the Money In The Bank contract. However Collins comes out and points out that he at the very least deserves a chance to win back the title. The Rock has made it official: Night of Champions, Kane vs. Jason Collins for the World Heavyweight Title...with Styles as the guest referee! Styles complains but Rock offers him a shot at the title if he goes through with it and calls the match down the middle.
Kofi is on the rampage questioning everyone and anyone over who could be responsible for keeping him away from the title. After beating the royal piss out of Cash Stevens for not getting an answer, Ian Moore is upset since Stevens was in no condition to defend his Intercontinental Title. Moore suggests that Kofi try a different approach and keep out of the business of innocent people. Kofi implies that Moore may not be so innocent. Ryan Creed and EZ Money, the tag champions and Stevens' cronies, come out to agree with Moore. Kofi had no business going off on Stevens for no reason and the whole locker room is in an uproar over Kofi's actions. The Rock makes Moore/Kingston vs. Cash Inc. for the next SmackDown! (June 13th). Kingston and Moore get the duke and end up being rewarded with a tag team title match at Night of Champions. Neither Kingston or Moore look too happy.
Cody Rhodes continues to try to be a good protege to Shawn Michaels. They even nab some tag team victories together.
John Bradshaw Leyfield decides to appoint himself leader of the group of heavyweights consisting of Rhyno, Sean O'Haire, and Garrett in order to offer them guidance in their fight against the cruiserweights. The following week, Jason Cross introduces Bryan Danielson as the cruiserweights' newest ally.
Over on Raw:
The Miz has talked himself into a corner when he bragged that he can beat anyone that HHH has. HHH has responded with two matches against formidable opponents, Shelton Benjamin and Randy Orton. Miz manages to crank out victories regardless via some sort of chicanery or another. Edge, in particular, costs Orton his match. HHH in the meantime continues to ridicule Miz by showing embarrassing moments of the Miz's career. He promises another tough opponent for Miz next week.
William Regal, Ted DiBiase, Evan Bourne, and R-Truth all qualify for the U.S. Title chase.
Victoria builds momentum towards her possible career-ending match against the Diva's Champion, Kim Roderick.
Chris Sylvain continues to get the cold shoulder treatment from the Raw locker room.
