It's died down yeah, but there were A LOT of hacked games about a year ago. I can say that the TF2 community is better than COD in that most of the time hackers wouldn't join a public match and start hacking it. Normally they would create their own. You still get the occasional sky walker/ground sentry that hasn't been patched but it doesn't take much to figure out a way around them.

The only reason we haven't gotten the updates is because Microsoft wants to charge for them, so Valve wants to give the fans their money's worth, thus they're waiting until they finish all the updates to release it.

It's not really a financial issue as much as it is a resource issue. Valve wants to release the update so that theres new guns/maps/game modes all in one. We're a little around 2 and half years after the release date and they still don't have everything they want. Mostly because of getting bogged down with L4D. And heaven forbid they start on Half-Life 2 Episode 3. Or a Portal 2. Or something completely new.
Then they might have to expand!

I play it a lot more consistantly than you do, I'm sure. I should know.

Yeah, maybe recently. When it was released, probly not. I got a little tired of the 360 version around a year or so ago. I play the PC version at friends house every now and then.
