I think thats the problem, they say they are the most hardcore shooter players but only in getting the most kills/best ratio. Instead of viewing the perks as strategy, its seen as extra kill potential.
Its a common problem with a lot of shooters that try strategy, most end up just as run-n-gun or campfests. A few like SOCOM, Halo, and Team Fortress end up succeeding since either strategy is built in by the way of a class-system or by how the levels are designed.
