ECW Hardcore TV - June 3, 2008

Rob Van Dam starts us off by discussing his match against Randy Orton tonight. Orton enters with Edge...and the match never starts. Instead, Edge and Orton lay down a two-on-one beatdown. The crowd's chants of "CM PUNK!" go unanswered.

After unfairly losing a match against Domino last week, Val Venis looks to rebound against Deuce. However, the result is more of the same...as Domino distracts Val and allows Deuce to pick up the victory. After the match, Val is Cracked in the Mouth for the second straight week.

Deuce 'n Domino cut a promo in the ring, hyping themselves up. OHHH!!!

Shelton Benjamin defeated Funaki in a good match via T-Bone Suplex. I wonder if Funaki will ever win a match.

Carlito is interviewed backstage, and he once again references this "Cool" New Wave that is meant to be coming. He says it will be rolling in sooner than you think.

In a match similar to last week, Kane this time defeats Trevor Murdoch via botched interference attempt from Lance Cade. Cade and Murdoch try to double-team Kane but it doesn't work out.

CM Punk arrives in the arena with his gear...way to show up late, Punk. He sees a bruised RVD and wonders what happened. RVD warns Punk that Rated RKO will try to attack him too...but that he has his back. Punk tells RVD that he doesn't need to come out and risk injury, because he has another backup...someone Edge should be very familiar with.

Carlito takes on Cody Rhodes. Rhodes has a very good showing, as Hardcore Holly looks on at ringside. Carlito tries to cheat on several occasions and it keeps drawing the ire of Holly. Carlito grabs his apple and spits it at Holly at ringside, and Bob has seen enough! He decks Carlito, and the ref calls for the bell! Cody Rhodes looks pissed, his partner just cost him the match.

Holly tries to justify his actions, saying Cody would have done the same thing. Carlito comes back into the ring and Holly tries to go after him, but Rhodes spins Holly around and plants him with a DDT! Carlito and Cody leave Holly battered in the ring, and they leave together.

Umaga makes his return after missing the last few weeks due to injury, and he has a tough opponent from the get-go in Tommy Dreamer. Really intense match, and Umaga wins it with a Samoan Spike. After the bell, Umaga continues to beat down Tommy, so much so that the referee thinks better of it and calls for the bell, reversing the decision! Sandman runs in and canes Umaga in the skull, saving Dreamer from further abuse.

CM Punk is in tonight's main event against Edge, who of course brings Randy Orton to ringside with him. Unlike at the start of the show, the match actually takes place...and it is quite good. As you might expect, Orton makes a nuisance of himself at ringside and costs Punk the win, giving Edge a victory over the champion. However, before a beatdown can occur...out comes BUBBA RAY DUDLEY...table tucked under his arm (bet everyone thought it would be Christian...oops). Orton takes a folded-up table to the gut, and retreats. Edge is powerbombed from the top rope through another one, revenge for last week's table attack. Bubba Ray Dudley has returned home to ECW!
