WWE Raw - June 2, 2008

MVP starts off the show by hyping up tonight's main event, where he will give Triple H his match. BUT WAIT - he never said TITLE match. Crowd boos as MVP claims Triple H still has yet to earn a shot at the gold.

One week after turning face, Melina takes on Molly Holly. Standard woman's match here...Melina gets the win following botched interference from Victoria. As the heels prepare to attack Victoria, WWE Women's Champion Mickie James runs in to save the day...brawl ensues between the four ladies.

Stevie McMahon addresses his assault on Eugene. He said it needed to be done to show us all that he means business.

Stevie remains in the ring for a match against Al Snow, where he wins following a roll-up with the omnipresent hook of the tights. Stevie was relentless after and continued to beat Al down until Steve Blackman comes out to help his partner, Stevie flees.

Backstage, we see Matt Hardy laid out in the hallway. A crowd forms, including a very concerned Jeff Hardy. Jeff needs to get his head in the game because he faces Shawn Michaels in a non-title match later.

Elijah Burke and Marcus Cor Von defeated the Highlanders to retain the WWE Tag Team Titles in a surprisingly good match. Bobby Lashley comes out after and double clotheslines both champions...getting the better of them for the second straight week.

Mr. Kennedy defeats D-Lo Brown, not much to say here. Poor D-Lo, much like the real WWE I can really only afford to use him as a jobber because I have so many other guys ahead in the card that I'm trying to push.

Jeff Hardy vs. Shawn Michaels is excellence as always, and the crowd is solely behind Jeff. Michael Cole spends the match insinuating that HBK must have been the one who attacked Matt, while JBL defends the heel. Ref bump, and STEVE CORINO runs in and plants Jeff with a Northern Lights Bomb. Ref recovers in time to see a Sweet Chin Music and pin on Hardy. HBK and Corino shake hands after, what is going on here?

They grab a set of mics, and it is announced that Steve Corino, the King of Old School, has decided to make the smart move and associate himself with the most old school guy on Raw, Shawn Michaels. Corino was behind the attack on Matt, as well. Shawn Michaels certainly knows how to pull strings.

MVP and Triple H put on a very good main event, with the crowd cheering on Triple H, hoping to see the champ get a Pedigree. It doesn't happen though, as after Triple H kicks out of a Playmaker, MVP decides he's had enough for one night and takes the countout loss. Crowd doesn't like it one bit.

In a shock of shocks...Mr. McMahon comes out and announces that Triple H STILL hasn't done enough to warrant a title match, citing his kicking out of the Playmaker as being "lucky". Next week, to keep his title hopes alive, Triple H must face, and defeat one of his former allies..."The Animal" Batista! McMahon and MVP laugh as Raw goes off the air.
