WWE Raw - May 19, 2008

Our show opens up with Vince McMahon backstage, who announces that he plans on dealing with Triple H. He thinks he has the right to be a thorn in the McMahons' side for months at a time? He thinks he can demand a title match at WWE Vengeance in six weeks? Well, he's going to need to earn that right Vince's way. Triple H will be competing in a series of grueling matches throughout the next several weeks, and if he slips up on any of them...his opportunity to face MVP will be GONE! And it all starts tonight, when in tonight's main event, Triple H will face Mr. Kennedy.

Continuing with the McMahon family, the delusional Stevie McMahon was in the ring. He plans on earning back his dad's respect, and he is doing that by issuing an open challenge to anyone in the locker room, right now! He'll show you, you'll see!

The challenge was answered by the fun-loving Eugene! He caught McMahon off guard with his silly antics, being sure to mock the mannerisms of several WWE greats. Stevie lands a bulldog off the ropes, but Eugene narrowly kicks out. Eugene follows it up with a big Swinging Neckbreaker for the win! Eugene runs around the ring celebrating whilst Stevie McMahon pounds the mat in frustration.

WWE Intercontinental Champion Shawn Michaels delivered an interview from his home in San Antonio, TX. He says that Jeff Hardy needs to move on and find somebody else to take up an issue with, because he is done with him. The crowd booed viciously, because they want to see Jeff Hardy get his rematch for the Intercontinental Title.

Mickie James defends her WWE Women's Championship next against Melina. Melina brings it to the champion, getting several near falls. However, showing the heart of a champion, Mickie is able to overcome it and win following a Mickie-DT! Mickie extends her hand to Melina after, and surprisingly, Melina accepts it! This might not be the last time these two face off.

The vicious Batista is out next. His victim is poor D'Lo Brown. D'Lo doesn't get much offense in before Batista ends it with the Batista Bomb. It would be wise to not mess with this Animal.

Matt Hardy is backstage. He says he is standing up for his brother. If Shawn Michaels won't give Jeff an Intercontinental Title match, maybe he'll have the balls to accept Matt's challenge for next week!

One week after cleanly pinning one half of the WWE Tag Team Champions Marcus Cor Von in the middle of the ring, Bobby Lashley tries to replicate those results against the other half, Elijah Burke. Burke tries to cheat his way to victory on several different occasions, but each time, Lashley's manager Theodore Long has been right there to bring it to the ref's attention. Burke is getting clearly frustrated, which doesn't help. Lashley lifts Burke for the Dominator, but Cor Von comes out of nowhere and lands a Pounce! The referee calls for the bell! Lashley might have won the match, but the Tag Champions make a statement by assaulting Lashley after the bell.

Jeff Hardy is out next, hoping to pick up a win to show Shawn Michaels that he is still looking for his title re-match. His opponent is no walk in the park, "The King of Old School" Steve Corino. Some high spots in this one including a top rope DDT from Hardy and a stalling brainbuster from Corino. Hardy whips Corino into the corner, and leaps up for a splash. Corino falls to the mat in pain, in perfect position for the Swanton Bomb! Jeff Hardy wins and stays on the right path.

WWE Champion Montel Vontavious Porter cuts a promo backstage saying that Triple H is out of his league. He beat Triple H at Backlash to retain his Money in the Bank briefcase, and then cashed it in the very next night during the Draft. He fails to see why Triple H feels he is worthy of a title opportunity, and he assures The Game that he won't get through these next several weeks, and it will be game over.

Our main event was very intense, with Mr. Kennedy and Triple H slugging the shit out of each other in the early going. Plenty of near falls got the crowd into this one, Triple H being just one second away from losing his title opportunity with each nearfall. Kennedy whips Triple H into the turnbuckle, conveniently while the ref is there. MVP sees this and rushes out of the back, WWE Title in hand. Kennedy holds Triple H back...MVP charges...and of course, Triple H ducks and Kennedy is blasted in the face with the title belt. MVP hightails it, the ref recovers, and Triple H plants Kennedy with a Pedigree to stay on his quest. Triple H celebrates while MVP retreats up the ramp, dumbfounded, to end the show.

What do Vince McMahon and MVP have in store for Triple H on next week's Raw? Will Bobby Lashley seek some retribution on the WWE Tag Team Champions? And just announced on WWE.com, Shawn Michaels has ACCEPTED Matt Hardy's challenge! Can Matt win the gold and bring it back to the Hardy family? Tune in next week!
