FEW Shockwave - July 29, 2009
---
We started off with British action as Harry Smith and Steve Lewington met in our first of four quarter-final matchups in the FEW Television Title tournament. Certainly a technically proficient bout, but in the end Harry Smith bests his countryman, winning via pinfall after a Running Powerslam. This is Lewington's first defeat and Smith advances to the semi-finals at Fight Night.
Lance Kade and Ted DiBiase Jr. was much more of a styles clash. Kade seemed to dominate the early portion of the match, but DiBiase managed to bounce back and planted Lance with the Dream Crusher. Ted DiBiase Jr. advances to Fight Night and he will face off against Harry Smith, a man he is certainly familiar with.
The popular Colt Cabana was next up, looking to stamp his ticket for Fight Night. Kenny Doane was there to spoil the party and advance himself, hopefully proving to the world that he didn't need Cliff Compton's help to advance last week. Well, he didn't do that, as Colt Cabana controlled most of the match and got the pinfall victory following a Colt 45.
Cliff Compton was backstage, once again taking shots at Chris Harris. He said Harris is at home, injured. And while he's licking his wounds, he can watch Cliff advance to Fight Night and become the first ever FEW Television champion, OHHH!!!
Cliff Compton vs. D'Lo Brown was certainly a main event quality contest, as both mens' styles really complimented one another and both are some of the more over guys in the company. Neither man could put the other down. Cliff Hanger, and D'Lo kicks out! Compton is beside himself, and he lays in some stomps. Chris Harris walks down the rampway! He was there afterall! Cliff sees him and gets distracted, screaming at him from the ring. Compton turns around, right into a Sky High! D'Lo advances to the roaring approval of the crowd. Harris isn't done yet, he jumps in the ring and the Wildcat goes wild on the '50s throwback. With Harris ready to go, will their paths cross at Fight Night?
Elijah Burke and Thorn have a heated confrontation in the ring to hype up their FEW Title match for Fight Night. Burke says that even though he managed to defeat his friends, he won't allow that to happen on Saturday. Burke even goes as far as to dare Thorn to hit him. The Vampire Warrior mulls it, the crowd wants him to, but Thorn declines, saying he wants no excuses when he wins the championship. The crowd pop for that, but then Elijah Burke cracks Thorn in the skull with the FEW belt for the 3rd time. The crowd reacts with angry boos as Burke poses with the title as we go off the air.
