It doesn't say in what condition the bodies were in, that's important to remember. Just because it said there were no bullet wounds doesn't mean there were no wounds of any type. I think that immediately makes us think of strangulation or something else. There are numerous other things that could have happened, far too many to speculate on.
As to whether or not this changes my perception of him... well, I didn't know him, but the way I imagined him seems very much in line with how his peers describe him: Passionate, took his work seriously, timid but tough, etc. This may or may not change how I percieve him as a person. I just don't know. I see people on the news all the time accused of such things and I think they're animals, now one of my idols is dead and accused of a heinous act and I have a hard time thinking of him as I do the others who have done the same thing.
