That trios tourney is looking really good, Loopy. Nice work
Anyways, time for the RAW PPV, Backlash. It's only the 18th of March, but I wanna leave plenty of time for buildup to Mania.
PRE-SHOW: Johnny Parisi and Johnny Nitro had their blowoff match, with Parisi finally beating Nitro thanks to a mis-communication with Melina. Parisi and his manager, Torrie, celebrated. **1/2, 61% Overall (crap, the quality and crowd were both higher than 61....I think I'm gonna be in line for a non-clicky show)
PPV RESULTS:
Match 1: The Lords of the Ring successfully defended their tag titles against The World's Greatest Tag Team thanks to a partner mis-communication. ****1/4, 77% Overall (96 quality, 77 crowd.....77 overall yep, this show is gonna suck)
Match 2: In a Retirement Match, the young upstart Rene Dupree defeated Ric Flair despite a questionable finish. This is like the 9 millionth time Flair has retired, but oh well. **, 63% Overall
Match 3: Newcomer The Bloody defeated Mickie James to become the new Women's Champion, ending Mickie's near year-long reign. **1/2, 59% Overall (Mickie lost overness, Bloody gained)
Match 4: In a No DQ match, Kane defeated DX's Shawn Michaels, with a little extra help from Shane McMahon. HBK was further beaten down after the match, enough so that HBK needed medical attention. ***, 73% Overall
Match 5: Carlito defeated Sonny Siaki and Chris Jericho to retain the Intercontinental Title when Carlito pinned Siaki. ***1/4, 73% Overall
Match 6: In a Steel Cage Match, the newly turned corporate heel John Cena took on DX's Triple H. Despite the cage provision, Shane McMahon once again made a nuisance of himself, throwing a chair into the cage, only for HHH to intercept it and beat Cena with it. HHH wins, meaning there's still 1 member of DX on the McMahon hit list. **1/2, 75% Overall
Interview: Edge gives an interview before his title match, 84% Overall
MAIN EVENT: Edge stole the Undisputed Title, defeating RVD after a cheap low blow and then hightails it with the title. New Champion. ***1/2, 77% Overall
73% Overall rating for Backlash...which is a load of horseshit considering the match qualities and massive crowd reactions. Oh well.
I still put up a 1.87 buy rate...higher than No Way Out's, so it's all good
Dinsmore and Conway have been bumped up the card, both with overalls above 80 now. The Bloody has been bumped up as well.
